Day 1 - onboarding, documents, laptop pickup
First day of the contract.
Went to Spatialworks to collect the work laptop. Spatialworks is the manpower vendor I am employed by directly; the placement is with PETRONAS. Met Kasrul, and MNJ Group, who handle HR services for Spatialworks.
Signed the onboarding paperwork: employment agreement, the accompanying forms, and the NDA. Also had a short introduction to the company.
Collected the laptop. It is an MSI; specs to be recorded once confirmed.
Set the machine up: signed in to Microsoft Teams and Office. Hit one snag during setup and called PETRONAS ICT, who confirmed Chrome is not permitted on the issued machine. Switched to Edge and everything worked from there.
Picked up a message in Teams from Whozaifah, the PETRONAS PIC and my supervisor, who shared documents covering the job scope.
